Middle Eastern Film Festival

On the 27th and 28th of March, Colinsburgh and Crail Community Cinemas played host to the national Middle Eastern Film Festival organised by the Edinburgh International Festival of Middle Eastern Spirituality and Peace.  Both evenings were very well attended as you will see from the short film above, with over 50 people attending each screening.

Each evening started with a recital of Egyptian Coptic music by Nabil Ramzy and Mikhail Ghattas. After the recital, a buffet of Egyptian food was provided by the Egyptian Coptic Church of Kirkcaldy and was funded by Celebrating Fife 2010

Each of the films was introduced by Stephanie Van De Peer, a research fellow at Stirling University. Neill Walker, the National organiser of the film festival, attended both evenings.

Colinsburgh and Crail Community Cinemas would like to thank Regional Screen Scotland, Fife Council and Neil Walker for making this evening possible.
